On 3 & 4 November 2023, Producers SG organised with NAC’s Arts Resource Hub #internationalisation: the whys, the what-fors, and the hows, a series of events exploring and unpacking the topic of internationalisation.

The first of these activities was Field Report: An Introduction to Arts Markets, featuring Shaifulbahri Mohamad (Singapore), Sasapin Siriwanij (Thailand), and Jin Yim (South Korea).

Taking the form of a panel and a Q&A session, the speakers reflected on their experiences either attending, participating, producing, programming, or directing different performing arts markets in the own home countries and other parts of the world over the course of their careers. Through this Field Report session, the speakers shared a range of perspectives and ways to navigate questions about what happens at arts markets, who should (or should not) attend an arts market, what are some of the things that go on at these events, and how can it be relevant to someone seeking opportunities for their work beyond home.
