[Open Call] NAC Arts x Tech Lab

The Arts x Tech Lab 2021 is the National Arts Council (NAC)’s inaugural innovation lab that will foster collaboration between the arts and technology sectors.

The Lab has been designed to empower creatives, artists and technologists to engage in innovative experiments and collaborations. In addition, it aims to build capabilities, co-drive innovation and support changemakers from within the arts and technology sectors.

Selected applicants who have applied through the Open Call will meet with a selection panel comprising both arts and technology experts to share their proposals. If selected, participants will undergo an eight-month lab, scheduled from May 2021 across two phases, and culminating in industry sharing planned for December 2021 (final date to be confirmed).

Each phase will be shaped according to the level of readiness of the participants and customised with consideration towards the participants’ proposals. Consultation, feedback and guidance will be offered to all participants as needed. Between each phase, participants will share the progress of their ideas at a mid-point sharing and receive feedback from the same expert panel. In the second phase, participants will develop a prototype, proof of concept, work-in-progress experience or minimum viable product, which will be shared as part of an industry sharing.
